Get Involved

The Connecticut Lodging Association needs your help in keeping our association strong. There are a number of ways you can be involved, including serving on one of our standing committees:

  • B&B Committee - This committee addresses the unique, specific needs of the B&B community.

  • Education Committee - This committee enhances and promotes the lodging & hospitality industry through partnerships with Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation, educational institutions and the industry. This committee directs the CLA Scholarship Program, plans educational seminars, coordinates certification training and provides research to the industry and the public.

  • Events Committee - This committee chooses themes, develops budgets, sets programs and directs promotion of special events of the CLA.

  • Membership Committee - This committee directs and drives membership development efforts. Its mission is to increase effective communication of valuable member benefits in order to recruit new property members and retain current property members.

  • Member Services Committee - This committee is responsible for updating the website with new changes to members and their hotel information. Creatively design a new concept for member brochure, improving upon mission statement each year as a new Board is slated in. Update the benefits to our property and allied members.

  • Legislative Affairs Committee - This committee monitors and analyzes legislation and coordinates grassroots lobbying efforts affecting the industry on both the state and national levels. The committee develops association policy and positions and directs the activities of the CLA’s professional lobbyist, and serves as the voice of the industry to our elected officials and regulatory agencies.

  • Allied Member Committee - This committee is comprised of CLA Allied Members and assists in the development of programs and initiatives for the association that help promote our Allied Members. This committee will generate ideas on how to execute a more effective trade show and will participate in the development of the Allied Members Guide.

If time constraints prohibit you from serving on a committee, but you are interested in helping out on a task-limited basis, contact the CLA office at 860-635-5600 and we will find a way to tap into your expertise and willingness to be involved.
